About Me

Hi, I'm Natasha.

A single mum of two teens living in Geelong Victoria.

I'm a mega coffee lover, you'll most likely see me with an iced latte in one hand, and a paint brush in the other. I love going for beach walks, especially with my furry friends. Animals have been a huge part of my life, when you need a hug or some company, they are always there and are happy to see you.

I also love food. You'll find me in the kitchen baking something or whipping up a huge fruit salad. I feel like food is such a huge part of me too, from sharing a meal, learning a new recipe or just washing the endless dishes my teens seem to create because they love to whip up something, I enjoy it all.

In 2024, I completed my certificate IV in Interior decorating, and it was a huge achievement after going through what I'd describe as one of the worst times of my life with DV. Learning how to navigate being a single mum (one of my teens has additional needs) dealing with post separation abuse, PTSD and then my house flooded too! I thought what a great time to go back into studying.

During one of our modules, we had an activity to do which included drawing and adding in texture, shape, line and shadows using different lifework, dots, squiggles and marks. I was hooked! I just found putting pen to paper so therapeutic. It instantly calmed my nervous system. It became what I discovered as my therapy of choice when life got difficult.

My daughter suggested I give drawing dogs a go. Shortly afterwards, I advertised on a Facebook dog page if anyone would let me practice drawing their dog, I ended up drawing over 200 of them!

I wanted to give painting a go, but I found it difficult finding the right method. Paint brushes weren't giving me nice thin lines like a pen would. After some time, exploring different mediums and techniques, I found the right method that worked for me that gave me a pen like consistency, but with paint.

One day when I decided to give my spare room a 'budget make-over', I decided to add some colour buy adding in a beautiful large piece I created (which was a huge dachshund on a purple background). That sparked the fire with in me, and I just knew I had to paint again.

Although my art can look somewhat realistic, they are my artistic interpretation of your dog or animal of choice, so can vary in texture and line work.

I hope you enjoy your artwork as much as I did creating it.

Much love, Natasha Miloi Xo
